Do you remember the little hook you wrote the nite john lennon died? if i rember correctly, you were working with a lennon type of melody "please dont go away" and the phone rang with the news. i was just playing around with a verse idea on the guitar and that chorus just popped in perfect fit from out of nowhere. i think you played that for me once 20 years ago; how i'd remember is beyond me; especialy considering all the burned out brain cells. Music must go beyond brain cells. The stange part is that, last night, chapman, lennons assasin was doing an interview on the larry king show as he's up for parole. Whats with all this hoodoo? On a lighter note, i went to see steely dan last week. it was great to hear all those songs live. The crowd was mostly greyhaired guys, which is a bit of a shame that they attract a narrow public. i think their music is timeless and holds up on its own. They are too unique to just be regarded as a 70's band only for that generation to appreciate. Eagles and Doobie Bothers were more a sound of the time, because it was m.o.r. its a lovely fall night in paris, tink ill go hang out the window for a while be well sal |
