The Hotel Triangle D'Or, located in Paris' 9th district, features rooms designed by notable architect Philippe Maidenberg in collaboration with musicians Rickie Lee Jones, Jaques Higelin, Archie Shepp, Manu Katché and Mc Solaar.
The Rickie Lee Jones rooms, located on the 5th and 6th floors capture the pensive and unbridled atmosphere of a 70s recording studio. A series of exclusive polaroids are hung from the bed headboards, with classic Rickie records and the songstress' own handprints adorning the walls.
"I often described my songs as rooms. In a way there are like rooms, or plays that take place in rooms, always the same dialogues and characters, but the interpretation at any give nights is totally up to me, one night the stage is bare, one night it is filled with ghosts... To have been interpreted as a room myself, has been one of the most pleasant secrets of the past few years. I have a secret room in Paris, and when I am gone, that room will be there, for a while, with some of the things I knew. It is a wonderful, unique honor, homage, and I have made a sweet friend of Philippe in the process. I look forward to the other musical ghosts that will inhabit the building, imagine the sounds of the rooftops just before the sun rises, some distant spring morning, fifty years from today. I shall be there, in that number!" Rickie Lee Jones
